Fosterville Gold Mine

Feasibility study, design, supply and reconstruction of the 3000m2 Bix bund. The existing bund had out lived its design life and was in significant degradation due to the aggressive sulfuric acid environment present. Project included working through collaboratively with the processing plant manager's various options on rebuilding the bund. Undertaking testing and condition reports of existing bund. Determining most cost effective and low risk option to rebuild the bund and extend its operation use. Structural design was undertaken followed by proof-of-concept trials and construction of a new lining to the bund, bund wall extensions and new sump liner installation. All works were undertaken in a live active operating processing plant.

Simpson Construction Company

Supply and construction of 2 no 52m dia steel tank bases. Project included trial mixes, heat of hydration review and implementing improvements to design that increases durability and minimises cracking. Project included the supply and placement of 500M3 of blinding concrete, supply and installation of 380 tonnes of reinforcing steel (delivered and installed during a 4 week period) supply and installation of 5km’s of PVC and hydrotite water stops. Thermal controls and monitoring of all structural pours on site.

Laurie Curran Water

Supply and construction of various water retaining tanks for the project including complex CEPT tank, filtration tank, filtration bund, chemical storage, delivery bunds and UV channel. Works included supply of approx. 100 tonnes of reinforcing steel, 1000m3 of structural concrete.

Aecom Hexiom

Supply and construction of new foundations and bunded slabs for chemical processing plant, for the Deer Park class 1 hazardous materials facility under very strict safety protocols. Project included supply and installation of 500m3 of blinding, supply and installation of  approx. 200 tonnes of reinforcing steel, supply and installation of 1300m3 of structural concrete.

Additional works were undertaken in a Brownfields environment including constructing 50 no foundations in and around existing infrastructure. This involved, survey, asset identification, location and hydro excavation in an extremely sensitive environment requiring detailed planning and interactions with ongoing operations and production.

Supply and construction of a new 3 meg CWST for Coliban Water. 30m dia with 6.4m high walls, built to a typical water authority specification including high performance concrete built to meet potable water requirements.

Fosterville Gold Mine

Supply and construction of new shed floors for Fosterville Gold Mine core handling facility. Project included approx. 4500m2 of graded shed floors, cut-off drains working in an active mine processing site.

Mandalay Resources

Structural design, supply and construction of reinforced concrete foundation and bunded slab for new 8m tall floatation tower.

Simpson Construction Company

Supply and construction of a new clarifier tank and associated pits. Project specified very tight tolerances for clarifier scrubbers and the use of Xypex Biosan admix for durability.
